Your peel appointment is scheduled for 30 minutes.
The results of a chemical peel can last anywhere from several weeks to a few months, depending on the type of peel and your skin care routine. Lighter peels, like our silver level peel, provide a subtle refresh that may last a few weeks, while deeper peels, like the gold and platinum levels, can offer more significant results that last several months. Regular maintenance treatments and a good at-home skincare regimen can help extend and enhance the longevity of your results.
We may recommend a series of up to three treatments, depending on your personal skincare goals.
Our patients say that the chemical peels cause only mild discomfort, often described as a tingling or warm sensation during the treatment. These sensations are usually temporary and subside shortly after the peel is completed. We make sure to ensure your comfort throughout your treatment!
Yes! To enhance your results, we recommend adding Skin Genius Defend IQ Intensive Recovery Cream to your regimen (along with sunscreen, of course!).
Also, you should be using sunscreen daily. We recommend either the Skin Genius Protect 44 or Drenched Protect 40. Protect 44 is water resistant and has a sheer, universal tint beneficial for most skin types. Protect 40 contains hyaluronic acid and is great for post-procedure and sensitive skin.
See above for our recommendations on treatment levels. However, you can always upgrade/downgrade at your appointment after speaking with our expert team.
To prepare for this treatment, avoid using harsh exfoliants, scrubs, or retinoids a week before your treatment to prevent skin irritation. It’s important to stay out of the sun, avoid spray tans and wear sunscreen to protect your skin for at least two weeks leading up to your treatment. Additionally, avoid waxing, shaving, or using any hair removal treatments on the area for at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. Keeping your skin well-hydrated with a good moisturizer will also help ensure optimal results.
For lighter peels, like the silver level peel, downtime is minimal with little to no peeling and you can typically resume normal activities immediately. For deeper peels, like the gold or platinum level peels, you may experience 2-3 days of more noticeable peeling or flaking, followed by a few additional days of mild flakiness. During recovery, it’s important to keep the skin moisturized, avoid sun exposure, and follow any post-care instructions from us to ensure the best results.
